Camp Caloosa

 

Located in North Fort Myers, Camp Caloosa was acquired in 1971 and consists of 80 beautiful acres. Camp Caloosa is a place where Girl Scouts can play, grow, and learn. The total camp capacity is 131. The camp has a small lake, many trails, a sports field, rainforest for cooling off, restrooms with shower facilities, and sleeping accommodations. Camp Caloosa has both canoes and kayaks for use on its lake. 

 

Rental of entire camp includes:  All sites (Lodge, Chanyatah Chalet, Flamingo Flats, Pelican Perch, Quail Run (tent site) and Timberford (tent site).

Capacity: 16 - One large sleeping room (14 cots) for the girls and small separate sleeping room for adults (2 beds).

Equipment

Equipment - Age Level: Girl Scout Brownies and up

  • Troops: Archery, Canoes and Kayaks are available in 2-hour time blocks. Two free time blocks with overnight camp stay. Day Use or additional time blocks are priced at $25 for 2-hours.
     
  • Service Units: All camp equipment is included with reservation at no fee with overnight camp stay and provision of appropriately certified facilitators.

 

Canoe or Kayak - Per Safety Activity Checkpoints - Ensure participants are able to Swim: Participants' swimming abilities are classified and clearly identified (for instance, with colored headbands to signify beginners, advanced swimmers, etc.) at council-approved sites, or participants provide proof of swim test certification. In the absence of swim test certification, a swim test is conducted before or on the day of the activity. Parent/caregiver of girl must sign the Waiver for Water Activities form and provide it to the event coordinator prior to event.
